If you have a cold, you should know that there are several different types of foods you can and should eat. These types of foods are foods that can help soothe your feeling most especially if the type of cold that you have is one that clogs your nose and makes it difficult for you to actually breathe.

If you have a cold, you should definitely eat foods that are rich vitamin c like fruits specifically oranges. Vitamin C is famous for combating sickness like colds and the like. When you have a cold, chances are your head feels stuffed and you feel weak. It is ideal for you to eat soft foods like soups and noodles as this could help you breathe well.
You should also avoid eating foods that can make you feel stuffed or foods that are spicy. Although spicy foods could help release the clog in your nose, chances are it could worsen your situation as spicy foods could be painful to the throat.

It is also best if you eat more of vegetables to keep you energized. If your taste buds aren’t functioning well because of your cold, chances are you wouldn’t have the appetite to eat. If this is case, you can simply opt to eat light foods like oatmeal, a slice of bread with very light spread or some crackers.

Avoid eating anything sweet and salty and avoid eating nuts when you have a cold. The best foods to eat also include liquids like milk, and fresh fruit juices. This is because fresh fruit juices and liquids help in releasing the clog in your nose.

If you have a hard time breathing, you should also eat foods that can be mixed with honey. These types of foods could be mixed with a cup or two of honey and could ease discomfort and soothe your condition.

Soups, liquids, and honey are the best types of foods to eat when you have colds. Of course don’t indulge too much on the bad stuff in order to soothe your cold.
